How do I prepare for a 1:1 appointment?
If you are booking a Tutorial or other appointment, please make sure that:
- You have booked for the correct time in your local time zone and you can see the Zoom / Google Meet link in your E2 Test Prep main menu - look for both in an email confirmation or under 'Tutorials', 'View appointment details (for the OET or IELTS speaking mock tests)' or 'assessments > live speaking assessments (for OET or IELTS)
- You can use the Chrome Browser on a laptop or desktop computer (if this is not an option, you can use your mobile, but you will benefit more from a bigger screen)
- You make every effort to ensure a reliable internet connection (if you have any issues, it's preferable to join from a mobile device with personal data than missing your session)
- You have tested your internet speed here: https://www.speedtest.net/ and it says you have an upload/down speed of at least 0.6mbps
- Test Zoom here: https://zoom.us/test
- Click "Join" > Click "Join from your browser" > Type in your name
- Click "Computer audio" > Click "Join audio by computer."
- Allow microphone and video access (there will be a pop-up message, or you can check the icons in the bottom left-hand corner)
- You should now be in a Zoom meeting with yourself!
- Test Google Meet by creating a new meeting https://meet.google.com/?hs=197&authuser=0
- Click on +New Meeting > +Start an instant meeting
- Allow access to your camera and microphone

If there are issues, you can click on the 3 vertical dots to check the settings and troubleshooting.

- When you make the booking, you will receive an email with the Zoom/Google Meet link (check your spam folder if not in your inbox).
- The link will also be in the appointment details under 'Tutorials', 'View appointment details (for the OET or IELTS speaking mock tests)' or 'assessments > live speaking assessments (for OET or IELTS) in your E2 Test Prep main menu.
- At the time of the appointment, click the Zoom/Google Meet link and the meeting will open.
Important note: If you have not followed these steps and you either miss your session or there are technical issues on your side that mean the session cannot happen, the appointment will be counted as taken. If you would like to reset the appointment we will then require a reset fee.
If you miss your session because of connection problems, the reset fee will be charged in the same way to rebook the session.
It's important to be ready and have an alternative option in case this happens: go somewhere where you can connect, use your mobile data and join from your mobile, etc. Again, this is part of preparing for your session.
Looking for your Zoom / Google Meet link for your 1:1 Tutorial, Speaking Assessment, Speaking Mock Test, or Consultation?
No problem! It's easy to find.
Step 1: Check your registered email address
- When you made the booking you were sent an email called "Your Appointment Zoom Link"
- It might go to your spam, so make sure you check there!
- Click the link in that email at the time of your appointment and it will take you to the Zoom meeting!
- Can't find the email? Go to Step 2!
Step 2: Check under 'Tutorials'
- View appointment details (for the OET or IELTS speaking mock tests)' or 'assessments > live speaking assessments (for OET or IELTS) in your E2 Test Prep account.
Enjoy your session!
